Sorry if this is somewhat off topic.
I'm a german computer science student considering to write my diploma
thesis about object-oriented persistence architectures like EOF or Java
Data Objects. I know that many people on this list love EOF (and miss
the Obj-C version), so I would like to find out what exactly those
people think it is that makes EOF a superior architecture. Also, I
would be grateful for links to related articles and documentation,
aside from the stuff at Apple and Stepwise.
Since my thesis will consist of both a paper and a practical project,
I'm thinking about getting my feet wet in Cocoa and Obj-C (haven't had
the chance to use it for serious work so far). Of course I thought
about writing a Obj-C EOF clone, but I assume this would take more time
than I have. Several more experienced programmers have been working on
that, and I feel no need to duplicate those efforts.
But in case one of them is listening, let me know if you think I could
help out in one way or another. Maybe we could work something out.
Finally, if anyone on this list would like to hire me to write my
diploma thesis about a topic related to persistence architectures
and/or Cocoa/Obj-C (common practice here in Germany), please drop me a
line. I live in Cologne, Germany, but wouldn't mind to relocate for the
duration of the project.
Thanks,
-Ralph.
