NSWindow setReleasedWhenClosed

  • Subject: NSWindow setReleasedWhenClosed

The "documentation" for [NSWindow setReleasedWhenClosed] says (in part): "Release when closed, however, is ignored for windows owned by window controllers."

I have no reason to believe that the statement is factually incorrect, nevertheless, it's not as helpful as it could be.

Are windows owned by window controllers therefore ALWAYS released when closed or NEVER released when closed? Or am I missing something more fundamental?
