not much feedback on my questions, but I try it again ... ;-)
Did I answer you before? I meant to...
I have to find a way to get the bitmap data _back_!
Does anyone know how to get bitmap data out of an NSImage?
Well, you can do the same thing again: lock focus on your image, and
then make a bitmapImageRep from the focussed area.
That said, I'm a bit mystified by NSBitmapImageRep versus
NSCachedImageRep, and why they are separate classes, and how one is
intended to use NSImage to do this sort of thing (a combination of
drawing using Quartz and direct manipulation of bits). I generally have
to flail about by trial and error until I find a way that works. The
doc in this area could stand improvement too.
So is there an NSImage guru out there who could enlighten Manfred and
I as to the One True Way of NSImage?
