Instead of deleting it, you should have renamed it in the Classes tab of the
nib window.

But it isn't too late. Select the Classes tab, choose Classes > Read Files,
select the document's header file from the list, and click the Parse button.
Now you have your document (with its new name) back in your nib file and you
can connect everything up to your heart's content.
