The Objective-C method of hiding controls is, from what I have heard, and
very object-oriented and sophisticated style of doing it. It may be more
difficult to adjust you perspective to that kind of mind frame than it is to
actually hide the control.
If you take this example to mean that the Cocoa programming environment is
not rapid, then, to speak frankly, I pity you. In addition, (although I
agree that Jobs could sell the gum off the sole of his shoe) you have not
been "Steved." Programming with Cocoa is, in fact, so rapid, that I often
have to take a break so I can catch up.
I hope I wasn't too harsh and keep hacking with Cocoa.
