Aha! It all works now. It turns out my project had the wrong (in
fact, an invalid) principal class set. The class name in there had a
space in it, where elsewhere in the project it had been replaced with
an underscore. In the other screensaver I'd made where I had the same
problem, there was no principal class set because I wasn't using the
screen saver project template and I didn't know about the principal
class setting.
