not-quite-a-beginner question about databases

  • Subject: not-quite-a-beginner question about databases

I started playing with Cocoa a couple of weeks ago - I come from a 15 year Apple background with considerable exposure to NeXT so it wasn't much of a surprise but I'm also more used to doing things with AppleScript and RealBasic.

I was just wondering what I would need to do if I wanted to give my application the ability to query external data sources - through ODBC for example. Is this functionality built in to Cocoa anywhere or is there a SDK that would help me (like there is with RealBasic)?

Grateful for any pointers...

TIA,

Steve
