In the Pre-Pro era CodeWarrior would parse the text and construct the
function popup when the user clicked the popup button. So there wasn't any
background thread of any kind doing this stuff. I suspect (but am not
certain) that it's still done that way. At the time, the requirement was
that the parsing and menu construction be fast, not that the parser be 100%
accurate.
