It does exist, it's just called EOF and is currently only available from Java with WebObjects.

An overview of the Objective-C version of the Enterprise Objects Framework that was included with WebObjects 4.5 is at <http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/webobjects/WebObjects_4.5/System/Documentation/Developer/EnterpriseObjects/DevGuide/GuideTOC.html>. This isn't part of Mac OS X right now, but it should be.
