My college, in the US(Boston area, at that, one of Apple's strongholds), has
exactly one Macintosh lab. 12 beige G3s running Mac OS 8.6, *for chemistry
use only*. The computer science department, from which I'll be graduating in
May, has completely forsaken and refused anything besides Windows(the same
applies to our IT dept, which is likely why the campus network is unable to
serve its 2500 users by even minimal standards). In fact, when Apple
delivered an ADC kit to the CS chairperson, he immediately handed it off to
me without even opening it.
