I asked this very same question just last week and didn't hear
any responses. No one seems to know any reason why these
methods are omitted, other than they just plain forgot to put
them in.
I filed a bug report on it at bugreport.apple.com, and if you or
anyone else wants methods to be added for this (how long would
it take them to add it, like 20 minutes?), file additional bug
reports, since the more reports they get, the likelier they are
to fix it.
