Just yesterday I checked out some little sample app that displayed the
cursor area of the screen in a little window. It was in the
Multiprocessor SDK at the July ADC DVD, but would probably be in the SDK
off the web too.
It is likely to be in Carbon C however, but in the end, it's the
functionality of the program that counts, not what API is used.
Well, yes and no. I'm looking for a Cocoa solution because I'm learning how
to write in Cocoa. I doubt that it's necessary to use Carbon for this task.
Strangely, the sample code for CloseViewMP (which is what I think you mean)
is hidden on the July ADC DVD (and in the download from the web site)
because it's in folders named starting with ".".
Thanks anyway.
Check Softrak ( softrak.stepwise.com, I believe ) for a program called "ScreenGlass", written by Gerard Iglesias. It's a bit long in the tooth (came out even before the final version of MacOS X 10.0, I believe) and it may not even run correctly on current systems, but studying the source should give you some insight into how Pixie does its thing.
