1. I have the April developer tools, so use these rater than December?
Yes.
2. I need to obtain a developer copy of jaguar.
Why, may I ask? You almost definitely don't need it. If you use Jag then
you'll need the Jag devtools, anyway.
Will purchasing an ADC
Select membership do it? ($500.00)
Possibly, but you might be too late to get the Developer Preview.
3. I have a G4-400 with 2 gigs of RAM and the original 16 meg video
card.
This machine should be OK? Any advantage of upgrading to a ATI RADEON
8500?
Hardware acceleration?
Upgrading to a faster video card will obviously give you better graphics
performance, but this shouldn't really be all that relevant unless you
are doing graphics-intensive development (e.g. 3D).
4. the best book out there is?
Most people seem happy with Aaron Hillegass' book, but I haven't read it
(or any of the others, except Learning Cocoa, and it wasn't all that
good). There have been several books released recently covering Cocoa,
though, and they may be better.
