I too would like to get a collection of all apps.
NSWorkspace's findApplications method does not return anything: it
seems to update private "records"
findApplications
- (void)findApplications
Examines all applications in the normal places (/Network/Applications,
/Applications, /Developer/Applications) and updates the records of
registered services and file types.
