Yet another example of miserable design!
Yep. But was it not always the case with NSWorkspace & Co?
All methods listed above have nothing to do with UI and should be part
of Foundation (as many others from Text system, NSColor etc.)
This NSColor thing!-) How many time did I saw weird convolution simply
to square the fact that NSColor was in the AppKit instead of the
Foundation... Oh, well... Regarding the text system, is there anything
equivalent to java.text.BreakIterator in this brave new "Cocoa" world?
I wonder if Apple will clean this mess one day, so that we can start
using these methods/classes in command line tools...
Command line tools?!?!? You must be confused here: the main contribution
of Cocoa to the field of computer science is *Interface Builder*!-) No
"stinky command line" need to apply... :-)
just my 2 euro cents...
Thanks. Also, any idea on this sad category business? Eg, how to get
categories for a given class? Some internals have changed and I was
wandering if somebody took the time to get around it? Anybody? Maybe
some bright mind in Amsterdam? Germany? Seattle?
Thanks for any insights!
Cheers,
PA.
