Yeah, Gnustep foundation is supposed to be very fine. But I haven't
heard too many good things about Gnustep Appkit. [hearsay...]
Assuming this is true, it means that you can write portable Unix
tools with Cocoa and Gnustep but not more than barebones GUI
applications, which in my estimation reduces the sexyness or claim
of this portability -um- significantly.
I certainly would enjoy seeing some open source Gnustep program
that compiles and runs under Cocoa, as being able to do so, would
be of great strategic value to me. (Is there a portable
Textedit.app demo maybe ?)
