XML for object archiving

  • Subject: XML for object archiving

I'm just finishing Ch. 13 in the Garfinkel & Mahoney book and I'm stuck on one of the Exercises. I'm interested in doing Ex.3, where the [Una/A]rchiving is to be done with XML rather than just serialized data.

However, I can find no information to get me started on how this is done.

Can anyone point me in a direction here?

Or am I expecting too much? I'm kinda looking for a semi-automated way for it to be done, but perhaps the point of the exercise is to override some inherited methods and manually prepare the data for archival??

Thanks!
