To everyone that's answered my questions, or even taken the time to think about whether you could answer them or not, thank you! Today I reached the 0.2 milestone I set for my IRC client, finishing my GIRCServer class for getting, holding, and using a connection to an IRC server from ObjC. Its Foundation-only, and I'd be willing to share it as well as explain how it works to anyone wanting to use or test it. It would likely be a good base for a simple IRC bot in its current state.
The license is GPLv2 with an addendum that modifications cannot be represented as the original product, because I intend to release it as shareware, those that do not want to take the time to compile it will be able to get a precompiled binary and support from me. (=
