Okay, so I thought that we're only supposed to use metallic windows in
single-window application which mimic what could be real-world devices
(as in iTunes, iPhoto, and iMovie). So what gives with iChat
then? :-) Virtually every single window (and there can be lots) is
metallic. By Apple's own prescription, shouldn't these windows go back
to being ordinary Aqua windows? Hmmm ... ?? :-)
The iApps are obviously the exception... They're all using brushed
metal. Either way, I hate it. I wouldn't be caught dead using brushed
metal on my interface (I will use the iApps though :-) ).

I've been under the impression that the brushed metal look was a branding strategy for Apple. I'm surprised, and on some level disappointed (because I never liked it either), to hear that it's been made generally available.
