loginwindow[261] Can't connect to pbs object "RulebookServer"

  • Subject: loginwindow[261] Can't connect to pbs object "RulebookServer"

hi-

Sometimes when I use a pop up button, or text view I get this message:

2002-05-21 11:39:52.382 loginwindow[261] Can't connect to pbs object "RulebookServer"

which causes the application connecting to the pbs (not the loginwindow) to bomb. It happens about 12 times a year total on several types of computers with Mac OS X 10.1 through 10.1.4 operating systems.

It seems like the Cocoa objects need to get some font or text information from the pbs service. Does anyone know anything about this and what might produce such an effect, and how to get rid of it?
