I got this same error message, but found that the app had in fact
installed just fine.
Maybe it's only happened to me, but perhaps anyone else that tried the
installer and presumed it to've failed might find the app is actually in
/Applications after all.
BTW it works beautifully, Thanks Christophe :)

Obvious question, just to be sure : were you logged
in
as root when you installed the software ?
What release of OSX are you using ?
One of the test I did was to create a blank disk
image
with Disk Utility; I mounted the disk, and I
installed
the software inside it.
Then, if it works, just copy the app in the correct
Application folder.
On my side, I'll try to fix it.
