Filter services

  • Subject: Filter services

I made a few unsucessful experiments, read "Providing a Filter Service" at:
file:///Developer/Documentation/Cocoa/TasksAndConcepts/ProgrammingTopics/
CopyandPaste/Tasks/CreatingFilters.html

and I have several questions about filter services:

1) Can a filter service be packaged in an application bundle (the application itself being in one of the standard Applications directory) or does it need to live in a .service bundle Library/Services ?

2) What about NSUnixStdio filter services? Can they be advertised in an application plist? In that case the NSPortName is relative to which directory?

3) Is there a way to list the available services? I can't believe there's no equivalent for make_services -d.

TIA for any info.
