looking for a method to read 'production information'

  • Subject: looking for a method to read 'production information'

I am looking for a method to get the 'production information' as shown by 'apple system profiler' tool. Just as remind this tool shows rom information, serial number and sales order number. Where does it get that information from?

This information seems to apparently contradict what is documented in TN1103: Uniquely Identifying a Mac OS Computer <http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/tn1103.html>

Any help on this subject would be appreciated,

Marco
