Thanks to all who replied to my first post, very useful replies -- helped me
understand NSLog() a lot more :-)

May I suggest you acquire Aaron Hillegass's Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X?

Learning Cocoa has a bad rep (never read it myself).
As for Aaron's book:
[self getBookSoon: @"Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X"]
but with money being tight right now (lots of bill, trip to Ireland on
Friday, MacWorld coming up) I may have to settle for what I currently got.
(Learning Cocoa and Cocoa App Building which I got @ WWDC a few weeks ago
for free!)
As for Learning Cocoa's bad rap .. yes I've heard it, but I think it mainly
stems from the days when Cocoa documentation was scarce and here was
Apple/O'Reilly introducing a book with (for the most part) currently
available tutorials while the community at large wanted NEW stuff.
Funny side note about Aaron's book is that ASD nabbed a few autographed
copies which will be given away on ASD soon (via a new contest), but as an
admin of the site I'll be out of the running .. oh the irony!
