It would seem I must be mistaken, and missing something huge, but the last
several extremely long hours have yielded a remarkable void. I'm looking
for /any/ documentation and associated things (source, tutes etc) for the
CDSA component of the Security framework. Apple's site is useless, there'
s no documentation in /Developer/... [other than some brief release notes]
, and no other dev site seems to want to touch the issue. Is there some
big secret I should know?
I've tried using documentation and white papers from the official site and
group, but these are written with VC definitely in mind, and don't seem to
be accurate for the OS X implementation. For instance, many of the
standard definitions such as CSSM_MAJOR or CSSM_PRIVILEGE_SCOPE_PROCESS
are non-existent. My highly exciting (sic) trudging through the header
files didn't find them, or anything else of use.
Ultimately I want signature and encryption services for a simple
networking app. I had previously intended to use GPGME, but this seems
out of date and broken given the currently available sources from
<
http://www.gnupg.org/>. What other alternatives do I have, that might
have actual documentation? I suppose Kerberos is an obvious alternative,
but again there's no real documentation or sample code anywhere. OpenSSL
is not an option, I don't think, unless I'm mistaken in thinking it doesn'
t allow for substream encryption...
P.S. I've already checked the list archives. :P
P.P.S. For all 27 mailing lists I'm on.
P.P.P.S. *Yes* this has been mentioned once before, but no helpful answer
was given to that person.
