A couple of points:
- The link you provided does not point to an app, it is a C code snippet
which compiles into a CLUI tool and does no error checking. While it is
"a" method used to accomplish such an effect, it is not exactly the
method I used for AutoOpen. In addition, AO is a GUI app, which checks
the dragged path for validity before you even attempt to set it to
AutoOpen. It is also very impolite make assumptions about the level of
effort put into an application's development.
- While $10 may be a bit more than some other shareware apps, its price
is based on the fact that its market is much smaller (developers), and
that it's a simple way to enhance the experience of your own shipping
apps. After all these "Software protection" threads, I thought it would
be refreshing to just trust people to pay what they feel its worth. If
it's not worth it to you to pay for it, don't. If you use it to make
your own experience better, please support shareware, and register.
Thanks,

I do think $10 is a bit hefty for what essentially takes 20 lines of
code...Lets say less than 500, given lots of GUI and sanity checks...That
said, the unregistered version is very unrestricted. Very.
