How to disable the Hide Toolbar menu item when sheet arises

Hello,
I've inserted Hide/Show toolbar and Customize toolbar menu items in the
view menu of my app controller (not document-based) as explained in
Apple doc.
As long as no sheet arises (i.e open, save panels), the menu works fine,
changing title as needed with English and French localizations.
When a sheet arises, the customize toolbar menu item is disabled, as
needed, but the Hide toolbar menu item remains highlighted, though no
action seems to be taken, as wanted.
Is there a way to disable the hide toolbar menu item to be consistent
with the (no-)action taken?
