does anyone know how to view hidden directories like usr/bin/, var/, etc.
in the Finder? it's a pain to have to go to Terminal all the time to
work with these directories and their files.
You got a lot of answers, but surprisingly no one gave the simpler
solution. My guess is that you are accessing to a particular folder (say
/usr/bin) often, right? So here it is:
1/ display this folder in Finder using the "Go to" menu or a "open" in
Terminal;
2/ make an alias of the so-desired folder anywhere you like.
The alias is always visible, you can browse inside in list or column view
like for any folder. Even if you need the original folder (to go to its
parent, for instance), you just have to hit Cmd-R on the alias.
Symbolic links works the same, but they are more complicated to create.
