IORegistry

  • Subject: IORegistry

Hi,

I am trying to write some software that interacts with a firewire device
(specifically a camera).

I have the 'drivers' installed. One part is in the 'Library/Application
Support' which is an .app, and another part is in 'Library/Components'
(a .component).

When the device is plugged in the 'IORegistryExplorer' shows the device
is registered.

The problem: Where do I go from here? I have tried reading a ton of
Apple documentation and all I have succeeded in doing is confusing
myself beyond belief! Any pointers (please pardon the pun) to example
code, or even general help, will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nick
