MallocDebug: Can it be used at all?

  • Subject: MallocDebug: Can it be used at all?

I am attempting to track down a memory leak in my app. When I try to launch the built app with MallocDebug, I almost immediately get a dialog stating that "Target application crashed: /path/to/my/app accessed memory at 0x7c0802ae illegally." Since my program doesn't otherwise crash, I tried launching a few other apps (icluding several Apple apps, like Calculator, TextEdit, etc.) from MallocDebug, and they all cause the same exact crash dialog, with the same exact memory location.

Clearly, MallocDebug is broken. Any suggestions?
