Cocoa came from a combination of two things. First, they wanted
a catchy alliteration for the kinds of programs that could run
on MacOS X, so you have Classic, Carbon, and Cocoa, lots of 'k'
sounds. Second, they wanted something that would point to the
fact that you could write apps using Java, but it wasn't pure
Java, and thus Java's relative, Cocoa, was chosen.
