All,

I've noticed that Apple's standard status bar items (like Airport signal
strength, Displays mode select, Sound volume, etc. ) as well as custom items
that use text labels all draw the icon/text in reverse colors on a blue
background when clicked.

However, default status items that use images do not reverse the icon image
colors when clicked. Is there a way to enable this behavior? If not, is
there a way to receive an event when the menu item is clicked so that
another icon that is color-reversed can be displayed?

Thanks,
Vic
