Not just notebooks... this has been happening on my Indigo iMac DV+ for some time now, but I've been too lazy to get it fixed.

I've heard reports of some notebooks resetting their clocks to Dec 31, 1969 for no apparent reason. It's very rare, but it does happen.

By default, the toolbar clock doesn't show the date, so it's easy to see how someone could edit and save one or many documents before realizing that the system date is screwey.
