The Custom NSCell thing can be done - you specify can specify a cell
class for the spreadsheet to use.
I am curious about the shift-select behavior. right now you can click
and drag to select an arbitrary range of cells. Are you wanting to be
able to put the cursor in one cell, and then shift-click somewhere else
to get all the cells between these two points?
