You are aware that there is already a Perl/Obj-C bridge for OS X,
right? It's just that Apple doesn't want to give it to the rest of
us ;-)
About a year ago, I read a post about a Perl bridge that they're using
in their build system. The engineer who wrote it said he was going to
ask his boss for permission to release it. I've a sneaking suspicion
that his boss responded with "Our tech writers are barely keeping up
with the three languages we already support, and you want to add
another? What are you smoking?"
IIRC what he said was that he wanted to make it opensourced and
unsupported as part of Darwin.
Besides which, I intend to port this framework to GNUStep as well -
something that I very much doubt Apple will do with their's. :-)
If it was opensource, you probably could do the work, anyway, it's not
specific to the API, just the implementation of the language, and since
Apple is harmonising their Obj-C runtime with the GNU one, I doubt there
should be many difficulties making it work with GNUStep.
