Where is nsthread_kill() when you need it?
Seriously, though, how can one thread ask another thread to exit? Right
now I periodically check to see if a flag has been set in the thread's
'owner', which works, but just seems cheap... plus I would rather be
able to shut down the thread immediately, although after some cleanup.
