NSSlider

Is there a way to ask an NSSlider if the user still has the mouse button pressed?

As the target of an NSSlider, I'd like to render myself in a simpler fashion until the user lets go of the mouse, the I'll cause one more detailed repaint.

Something akin to NSView's inLiveResize method would be nice.
