Custom TextField/FieldEditor

I have a custom textField subclass of NSTextField, with a custom
fieldEditor subclass of NSTextView
In the fieldEditor i need to get some info about the textField,
[[self window] firstResponder] returns my custom fieldEditor,
so how do i get the id of the original textField?
