Maybe I'm off my rocker here, but wouldn't the existence of man pages for
these functions suggest that they are present in Mac OS X? I guess I should
have mentioned that this app I'm working on isn't on Mac OS X (else I would
use the Mac OS X specific tools), but a variety of other Unices, so Mac OS X
compatibility is moot. Thanks for the help...
