This is a very helpful guide; following what it says to do usually clears
up many of the easiest (and thus most boring/likely to elicit an RTFM
response) questions.

You gosh darn doody head! ;-)
As a newbie, I appreciate a strong hand when I step out of line. My rule of
thumb, when asking a question, is to wait for five days, and in that time,
STFW and RTFM. I understand that many wouldn't have that time, but in all
honesty, 5 hours is all that's necessary to find what you're looking for (IF
you would have received an RTFM response). In five days, you can find the
answer to most any problem, though it's much faster to ask the list and
learn from the pros.
