IMHO, even that's not so GOOD.

The person asked an honest question.. they didn't ask to be lectured..
Perhaps, they are at a trade show and don't have access to any docs, just their dev environment.. They have to fix a bug, and they are hoping that a kind soul will help them out in their hour of need..

Unless the person is a chronic pest who sees a mailing list as their personal 'outside developer', why not just ANSWER the question..

Many times, due to the dearth/organization of Apple's documentation, it's hard to know where the 'TFM' is before one can 'R' it..

Geez, just copy & paste the small chunk of the header, and reference what file it was from..

Or what I do most of the time, is copy a chunk of *working source* , if not mine, from Apple's sample code..
