OK, bad wording - it's definitely not recommended and I wouldn't rely on it personally to do the right thing for sibling views that overlap. The reason I said that is there seem to be documented problems with ordering of views if they overlap. For instance <http://cocoa.mamasam.com/COCOADEV/2001/11/2/18829.php> is just one example.

There are loads of cases where views are overlapped..
