You need to use CVS from the CLI in order to check it in. See the CVS docs in /Developer/Documentation, and/or the tutorial over at www.cocoadevcenteral.com (referring to SCM with PB, although they changed the menu to CVS since PB doesn't support any other forms of SCM). Since SF uses SSH authorization, you might need to use SSHAskKey or whatever it's called.
