Hiding apps in Dock

  • Subject: Hiding apps in Dock

Since I published my little clock app some hours ago there were already several users asking about a feature to hide the application icon from the dock.

I know there are lots of applications out there, that offer this.

Since the only method (NSUIElements) also hides the menu, which is not really what the people want most of the time - wouldn't it be better if the Dock itself offered the option to hide selected apps?

Is this something Apple has to add, or can anyone think of a way to hack that in?

Also, do the Apple people on this list know what Apple's position is on this topic?

bye. Andreas.
