NSTableView optimizations?

Are there any tricks people have found to make NSTableView perform better? I have a table view in "Trade Strategist" with around 13 columns, and scrolling slows to a crawl. "Sampler" tells me that most of this time is spent in Apple's code, with only around 0.04 seconds out of around 13 seconds of scrolling in my data source methods.

I'm probably asking for a miracle, but if anyone knows something I don't, I'd love to hear it.
