I agree, for beginer it's not easy without IB but when you have more knowledge
you don't need it. I don't use it very much, I prefer a good text editor like xemacs :-)

I don't think after 10+ years of using the thing I qualify exactly as a beginner, and I do love IB -- for the reason it allows me to save roughly 90% of time, if used properly for things it was designed to do. Of course I can do just anything without it, but it would be a lot of quite unnecessary legwork.

Of course, I *do hate* its binary format: had those NeXT guys ages ago (heck, it's much older than ProjectBuilder!) designed it to use plaintext from the beginning, it would be much better (well I can understand the reasons, but still it's a shame ;)))
