Setting your application as the 'default' for file types

OK, StuffIt has driven me absolutely mad.

Each time you have to update it (lets say, due to SECURITY ISSUES), it once again assumes all responsibility for ALL file types it supports. I hate that.

I'd like to add a panel to OpenUp to allow users to set it as the default for the selected types.

Is this covered under the LaunchServices umbrella?
