I'm a little confused by this statement.

Where are all the folks that were working with NeXTSTEP/Openstep.

Most of them aren't working are they? I mean the consulting gang not the "off the shelf" gang.

What's Glenn Reid doing these days?

We know about Andy S. What about the Adams brothers?

What about Jayson Adams?

What about William Parkhurst (Still able to afford surfing in Hawaii?)

Java has been shattered by globalization ... at least speaking from my own experience and my own difficulties finding that kind of work in the last year. That said I've spent a lot of time in Asia travelling and enjoying life as well but I'd like to be working somewhere right now.

ironically, one of the objections i hear to projects using cocoa as a development environment is the perceived difficulty in staffing a project. "it's so much easier to hire 10 C++ programmers at the drop of a hat than the same number for cocoa" is the generally feeling. its the same dynamic that empowers VB and similar platforms since a chief obstacle for management in larger projects is staffing.

until there is a critical mass of readily available programmers, there wont be a critical mass of work. and visa versa. one way to bootstrap is to have a much more efficient mechanism to match talent with work which allows a project manager to hire 10+ cocoa programmers at the drop of a hat. and this should be true at least for all the big centers of work, not just silicon valley.

Hi,
I know this is tangential to Cocoa programming, but where exactly do people find employment doing Cocoa programming?

I wish I knew. :-(
