The right contentView of SV1 was a CustomView with no drawings in it. With adding some windowBackgroundColor drawing, the garbage vanished.

This is a bit strange as I would have thought that since isOpaque was sending NO by default, the background of the window should be re-drawn when the CustomView was "drawn".
