What you're talking about here isn't at all specific to NSTableView's,
but rather a simple issue of NSArrays/NSDictionary, and while I'm not
100% that you're wrong, it does seem an extreme length of time, so I do
question the application.
I'm not entirely sure why the deallocation is such a concern for you..
you could just do the deallocation in the background...
